About the Artist
Growing up, I let myself be molded by other people rather than making my own choices about who and what I wanted to be. I became what I thought others wanted me to be. When I moved away from home I realized I didn’t know who I was. I decided then to become my own person and try to live my life the way I wanted and not let anyone’s opinion affect me. This lead to me looking back on my life to the few times I really felt I was genuinely me. I use my art to help me explore the few times in my life that I felt I was truly me. These moments are brief periods of time in which everything I did was honest and true to my nature. I wanted to do something, and that was reason enough to do it. I was no longer living by anyone else’s rules. By re-looking at these memories, I hope to achieve a fulfillment in my life.
